Castle Park in Bishop’s Stortford to host in-person and online wellness triathlon

A triathlon for mind, body and soul returns to Castle Park in Bishop’s Stortford the first weekend in June – and participants have the option of participating in the flesh or virtually.

The Wellness Triathlon will take place at Sworder’s Field on Sunday June 6 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will start with a 5 km run followed by a yoga class and meditation session. The fitness festival will also be broadcast live online from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Due to Covid-19, places are limited and a voting system is in place for everyone to have the opportunity to participate.

Wellness triathlon (47379589)

It was hosted once again by Friends of Castle Park wellness and fitness champion Adriana Potts, Adri Flow & Fitness, and Kate Macfarlane, trainer Kate Running.

They are supported by Jo Wilson, from Joga, and Samantha Gilmour from Yogaloco. Together they aim to accommodate all levels of fitness.

Kate, who is a qualified running coach for track and field in the UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome people back to our wellness triathlon, with the exciting options of a safe in person event. and a virtual event.

“I look forward to supporting you throughout your 5K run, whether you choose to run or walk, in our beautiful castle grounds or around your own virtual course.”

Adriana, who is an advocate for mental and physical well-being, said: “This type of experience – bringing mind and body together – is what communities need right now. We will be hosting a safe and enjoyable event. where we can reconnect with the community and one another. “

The event is in favor of the charity of Bishop’s Stortford Grove Cottage, Mencap’s home in London Road. It will be possible to make a donation on the Friends of the Castle Park Facebook page or on the day of the event.

To participate in the free ballot, email [email protected] before 1 p.m. on Thursday May 27. Tickets will be released by Friday (May 28).

Places are available for 16 years old and over. Participants must take a yoga mat and water. Restrooms are available in Jackson Square.
