Chamberlain University Releases Results of National Study on Nurses During COVID-19; Starts the Nursing Well-Being Assessment
CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE) – A study commissioned by Chamberlain University during the COVID-19 pandemic provides insight into the stressors faced by nurses and forms the basis of an online assessment of nursing well-being developed by Chamberlain, which has the largest nursing school in the United States. The commissioned study was conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of the University.
the study results and the Nursing Well-Being Assessment underscore the continuing need to ensure that nurses have access to wellness supports while simultaneously caring for their patients. The study stands out for its national scope and for the fact that it interviewed nurses several times over a six-month period. Among the results:
During some of the most relentless times of the COVID-19 pandemic, 90% of nurses experienced high stress levels.
For the study, nurses were asked about well-being before COVID-19, and 75% of nurses surveyed reported a high level of well-being before the pandemic. During the investigation period, this number fell to only 29% of nurses.
Nurses remain resilient and dedicated: 76% of nurses surveyed in the final phase of the study feel passionate about their work.
