THE Department of Education (DepEd) urged teachers to balance academic rigor and learner well-being during physical classes which begin on November 15.
During the orientation for conducting face-to-face lessons, Education Under-Secretary for Curriculum and Instruction Diosdado San Antonio reminded teachers to foster a safe and welcoming learning environment for students on their return to school.
Face-to-face classes will resume on November 15 in 100 selected public schools.
âWe have to make sure the learners are up to speed and that every moment we spend with them is productive. We need to be patient and considerate of our learners because their well-being is as important as our efforts to foster their cognitive development, âsaid San Antonio.
Through orientation, teachers learned the operational dynamics and interplay between distance learning and face-to-face lessons during sessions on designing a learning progress checklist, setting implementing considerations for inclusion, developing weekly home learning plans and understanding the blended learning process. .
The Education Department will soon publish a note on the suggested deliverables for the teaching-learning component of the pilot implementation of limited face-to-face courses.
