Design trends for 2022 influenced by the pandemic | News, Sports, Jobs

As we start a new year, we usually think of resolutions or things we would like to change.
A new year means a new beginning. We can’t always control what happens in the world around us, but we can make small changes to feel more comfortable. Design trends for 2022 focus on natural materials, multifunctional spaces, comfort, well-being and self-expression.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected many aspects of our daily lives. So it’s no surprise that it affects some upcoming design trends. With some still working from home, the need for creativity, productivity and multifunctionality has become more important. Comfort and well-being are equally necessary to maintain a healthy balance between work and home.
The paint trends setting the tone for a more comfortable environment are landscape palettes. Soothing greens, blues, grey-greens and earthy tones like those found in nature help reduce stress and lower blood pressure and heart rate. They also help increase productivity and creativity and ultimately make us happier.
With the pandemic affecting shortages in supply chains, more emphasis has been placed on selecting greener choices for decorating. Unique vintage and antique finds will be there.
The use of natural materials such as wood, bamboo and rattan will be more popular, complementing the colors of the landscape palette which are also in fashion. For a feeling of well-being, more and more people are incorporating plants into their decor. Live plants promote a calming effect and cleaner air.
Another trend is curved furniture such as sofas and chairs that add a touch of comfort, breaking that straight line syndrome. Textured fabrics that are a mix of luxury, chic and comfort, such as velvets and sherpas, will be popular in 2022.
Natural materials and hues are used in design changes to replace cabinets, countertops and floors. There has been more interest in patterned hardwood floors, two-tone inlays, and lighter wood floors.
Color is making a comeback in the kitchen. Painted kitchen cabinets or cabinets in warm or natural hues and marble or granite countertops are becoming increasingly popular. Another trend is to incorporate black accents into home design and decor. For example, black lacquered front doors, black window frames or black cabinet handles. Adding black accents such as mirrors, vases, or even black frames adds relief and depth to more minimalist spaces.
Just as fashion has evolved in recent years, so has interior design. It’s more about self-expression and less about what’s trendy. Typically, home trends decline, but lately the lines between minimalism and maximalism have blurred a bit, allowing people to decide their own interpretation. The design of the house is a reflection of his individuality and his tastes. Your home should reflect you.
