Himachal allows army recruiting rallies, eases restrictions on gatherings

The Himachal Pradesh government has authorized the organization of recruiting rallies for the Indian Army and has also eased Covid restrictions on gatherings.
A notification to this effect was issued by the State Executive Committee (SEC) headed by Chief Secretary Anil Khachi in Shimla on Saturday.

He said the state Army Recruitment Office (ARO) had requested permission for recruiting rallies to provide employment opportunities in the armed forces to youths in Himachal Pradesh and permission to take the common entrance examination (CEE).
“After examining the prevailing status of Covid-19 and the fact that the number of positive patients, the daily death rate and positivity have significantly decreased and the situation has improved, the SEC is forecasting a relaxation of the maximum number of persons authorized to assemble in such gatherings / recruiting campaigns by the military, paramilitary forces, police and forestry, subject to adherence to appropriate Covid-19 behavior and safety protocols at such gatherings of public interest, ”the notification states.
He said the district magistrates will coordinate with the respective recruiting authority for the application of the security protocol.
Indoor gathering of 150 people allowed
The limit on the number of people in social / academic / sports / entertainment / cultural / religious and other congregations has also been relaxed.
In a covered facility, a maximum gathering of 50% of the capacity will be allowed, with a ceiling of 150 people maximum.
In open spaces, gatherings will be allowed with a maximum of 250 people. Wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing, providing thermal sweeping, and using handwash or disinfectant will be mandatory in all of these locations.
