Sorry Ghost is looking for happiness in “Like a Thief” video – // MELODIC Magazine

Back in April, our friends Sorry Ghost announced that they are waiting for⦠a brand new single! Proud parents Dan Anton and Matt Polito teased makeshift ultrasound photos and went so far as to throw a baby shower for the runway on Instagram, eagerly anticipating the arrival of their new pack. When âLike a Thiefâ finally fell a few weeks ago, it was love at first sight. Fans of the pop punk group, as well as newcomers to the group, couldn’t deny the track’s emo charm, helping it earn coveted spots on various Spotify playlists, such as New Noise, New Punk Tracks. and All New Rock.
In âLike a Thiefâ Dan and Matt take us to a world full of mystery and suspense. Set to the band’s signature âpessimistic upbeatâ sound, the lyrics and music work together to bring us both terror and hope. Dan sings “promises that lead astray” and is “encouraged by the hopes of a new yesterday”, providing conflicting, yet very visual images. In all, we decide what to do with the “map” given to us in life, as the track indicates towards the end.
The music video for “Like a Thief” is a little less vague than the track, but just as creative and energetic. In search of happiness, Dan and Matt roam California, from snowy slopes to sandy beaches. By picking up and knowing meaningful objects along the way, the boys fully lose themselves in the journey, showing that true happiness is not always found in material objects. You can check it out below.
Sorry, Ghost is gearing up to release more new music next month, taking full advantage of that prime time for summer music. Until then, you can listen to “Like a Thief” on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
