Supporting the mental health and well-being of vets during June milk month – AgriNews

PARSIPPANY, NJ – The mental health and well-being of veterinarians has become one of the most important topics in the dairy community in recent months, as veterinarian suicides are on the rise.
Zoetis encourages members of the dairy industry to help raise awareness and raise funds to support dairy veterinarians who have a unique bond and tireless dedication to the protection and care of livestock. Participants have the opportunity to recognize and name dairy veterinarians in their lives for the chance to receive a personalized jacket.
For each nomination, Zoetis will donate to Not One More Vet, a 32,000-member non-profit organization that helps veterinary professionals and students struggling with, or considering mental health and wellness issues. commit suicide, through education, resources and support.
Here’s how the Zoetis Honor Your Dairy Vet campaign works:
Step 1: Name your dairy veterinarian (s).
Zoetis asks participants to visit HonorDairyVets.com until June 30 to submit an application for a dairy or mixed cattle veterinarian who skipped dinner to help pull a calf; who leaves the farm with a sore shoulder after repairing a displaced abomasum; or that is special to them, their family and their cows. You can nominate as many vets as you want – and every unique vet you nominate is registered for a chance at being selected.
Step 2: Zoetis makes a donation.
For each nomination, Zoetis will donate $ 5 to NOMV, up to $ 10,000. The more you recognize and celebrate vets, the more Zoetis gives.
Step 3: Selected vets receive a personalized jacket.
Each week in June there will be three dairy and cattle practicing veterinarians randomly selected to receive a personalized waterproof jacket that is ideal to use when visiting farms.
Zoetis is asking for your help and participation in this campaign, because losing one more vet is one too many. To participate, visit HonorDairyVets.com or follow us on the Dairy Wellness Facebook and Twitter accounts.
