WI v IND: ‘Team won, so happiness doubled’: Arshdeep Singh after impressive performance in first T20I
Crimper Arshdeep Singh was impressive with his bowling in India’s T20I opener against West Indies at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad on Friday. The left arm pacer picked up two wickets in the form of Kyle Mayer and Akeal Hosein while conceding just 24 runs in his four-over quota.
On the back of Arshdeep’s superb bowling, the visitors, after posting 190/6, limited the hosts to 122/8 and won the contest by 68 points. After the win, Arshdeep expressed her joy and said happiness doubled after the team won.
“It was a good experience. I’m happy with my performance. The team won, so the happiness doubled. Due to a break, I’m playing after a long time. So, I want to work with Paras (Mhambrey ) sir and improve my areas”, said Arshdeep in the post-match performance.
“I guess, keeping it simple and using the wicket a lot and using the slowest and finally just trying to nail my yorkers, I think it worked for me,” he added.
Arshdeep mentioned that he is aware of his responsibilities and thanked the team management and the captain for giving him confidence and clarifying his role in the team.
“I was quite aware of my roles and responsibilities. I was briefed by the team management and the captain on my role as a bowler when I have to come bowling and everything. It gave me a lot of clarity and confidence, and I was able to plan accordingly. The way Bhuvi bhai bowls, he keeps the pressure on one end, and that helps me get wickets,” Arshdeep added further.
