Jennifer Garner is here to offer some wise words of wisdom.
the A.k.a alum, who shares three children with ex-husband Ben Affleck, took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday to share a photo of herself lounging on a boat in a black dress and sunglasses. She captioned the sunny post, “Mom wisdom – happiness is your own responsibility. The life you live while waiting for grade, college, job, man, is your real life.”
She concluded with, “Decide to enjoy it and work towards your own peace and satisfaction.”
It’s not the only time the 13 Ongoing 30 the actress gave important life advice. garner said entertainment tonight that she looks outward in order to avoid feeling pressured by ever-changing beauty standards.
“I think it’s really important to look in the mirror less, that’s kind of what I tell people,” Garner explained. “Just spend more time looking outside instead of looking in a mirror and focus on what you can do for others. I swear it will make you prettier and feel better about yourself.”
Garner also brought words of wisdom to the start of Denison University 2019, where she spoke and received her honorary doctorate. In her talk, she shared three tips for living a happier life.
“Imposing self-discipline around three things: having a book on your bedside table at all times and reading it, obviously,” she said. “Be in control of your social media consumption and cultivate a sense of humor about yourself because otherwise, you risk being boring.”
She gave some practical tips, like starting a sunscreen routine when you’re young and avoiding smoking, even with an e-cigarette that “smells like maple syrup, pineapple, or cotton candy.”
Garner even had some handy tips for travelers.
“Don’t walk into the Grand Canyon to see what it looks like from below,” she joked. “It’s great from the top, you should do that. But when you get to the bottom, it’s just a big hill, and it’s a pain to come back up.”
